Providing the tools to understand (and not a top-down solution from some guru) allows to make the best and most appropriate choice for the style of each aquarium/aquarist, without forcing into one management or product. We want to make the aquarist aware of what they are doing, what is happening in the aquarium and the commitment that maintaining the aquarium entails. The understanding of natural environments will be fundamental for the correct choices of aquarists.

At a time when, unfortunately, science and rationality are taking a back seat, it can be useful to try to bring science and logical-rational thinking back into our hobby as well. We therefore want to reverse the trend, eliminate the "it's always been done this way", the generalisations ("it worked for me once, so I recommend it to everyone") and the sometimes overly imaginative marketing of the sector. Wherever possible, we will try to include sources and bibliography, so that you can confirm and expand on what we have written.

All topics and all conducts will be welcome, as long as we pose in a constructive, friendly and open manner. We will try to avoid extremisms, which are only harmful and can cause quarrels and discussions too heated (for a hobby). Often, in fact, in some groups and communities you are attacked because you have a particular or unusual conduct. With us, however, as long as the other principles listed on this page are respected, everyone is welcome. Extremism? Religion-war? Not here, thanks!

As with people, we seek full respect for the aquarium guests. For example, we will try to encourage the setting up of aquariums of adequate size and characteristics, avoid problematic species combinations, encourage the maintenance of the peculiar characteristics of the fish (group behaviour, parental care...), discourage the purchase of strong selections, which make the fish weaker and often unable to manifest natural behaviour, such as communication through changes of livery. We will also avoid the purchase of captured species, favouring breeding by hobbyists and, finally, we will encourage full respect for the environment, for example by stigmatising the abandonment of species in waterways or by seeking energy-saving solutions.
